Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy covers the GoViral website (howtogoviral.app) and the GoViral iOS app (together, the “Service”). The Service analyzes short-form social content you submit, estimates its viral potential, and generates improved images, captions, and videos. This page explains exactly what data we handle, what is sent to AI providers, and what never leaves your device.

1. Information we collect

Content you submit. Photos, video clips, captions, hashtags, generation prompts, reference images and reference clips, and links to public posts you paste. This content is used only to produce your analysis and your generated results.

Creator profile you enter (optional). A public social handle and typical audience numbers (followers, views, likes) that you provide to calibrate forecasts.

Account info (optional). The Service works without an account. If you sign in (Sign in with Apple or email), we store your email address and, if you share it, your name, so your history and purchases can sync across devices. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google LLC).

Device identifier. The iOS app generates a random install identifier to meter free usage and attach purchases to your device. It is not Apple’s advertising identifier, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Purchase records. Subscription and credit-pack records from the App Store (Apple) or Stripe (web). We never receive your card number.

Web analytics. On the website we record conversion events (sign-up, checkout, purchase) with Google Analytics. At purchase, your email is hashed in your browser before it is sent for conversion measurement.

2. How AI processing works

The core of the Service is AI analysis and AI generation, which run on third-party AI providers. When you run an analysis or generate an image or a video, the content of that request is processed by one or more of:

What is sent: only what a request needs — the frames or clip you submitted, your caption and hashtags, your prompt, your reference media, and (if you entered them) your public handle and typical audience numbers.

What is never sent to AI providers: your name, email address, account identifiers, device identifier, and payment information.

In the iOS app, we ask for your explicit permission before your content is sent to these providers for the first time. These providers process your content on our behalf solely to return results to us. They are required to protect it to at least the same standard as this policy, and they are not permitted to sell it or use it for advertising.

3. Public-data lookups

To ground forecasts in real numbers, we fetch publicly available statistics (profile stats, hashtag performance, trending posts) for the handles, hashtags, or links you provide, using data services such as Apify. Only public data is retrieved: we never log into your social accounts, never ask for your social passwords, and cannot see private content such as direct messages or draft posts.

Any account handle or post link you submit for tracking must be your own. Before the first lookup we ask you to confirm this and to authorize us to read that account’s public data; you can withdraw that authorization at any time by removing the account in the app or on this site, which also stops future lookups for it. Do not submit other people’s accounts.

4. Storage and retention

Your analysis reports are kept so you can revisit them: on your device, and — if you sign in — synced to our servers. Generated images and videos are stored on Cloudflare R2 so they remain available after generation. You can delete individual reports or your entire history in the app at any time; deleting your account removes your cloud history. Content submitted for processing is retained only as long as needed to complete the request and provide these features.

5. Payments

In-app purchases are processed by Apple; web purchases are processed by Stripe. Each handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.

6. Your rights and choices

We do not sell your personal information, show ads, or track you across apps. You can delete reports and history in the app, and delete your account from the account screen. To request access, export, or deletion of your data (including rights under GDPR or CCPA where they apply), email support@howtogoviral.app and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. International transfers

Our servers and providers operate in the United States and other countries, so your content may be processed outside the country where you live. We apply the protections described in this policy wherever it is processed.

9. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
